Legal Action for Afghanistan (2021 -2022)

Legal Action for Afghanistan (“LAFA”) was an emergency legal assistance clinic co-founded by two friends, Kim and Kobra who wanted to do something about the ongoing situation in Afghanistan following its fall to Taliban rule in August 2021. Since then, it has amassed a community of over 400 volunteers - law students, graduates, human rights lawyers and migration agents as well as translators all around Australia who contributed their time and efforts to support the operations and activities of the clinic.

We provided free legal assistance and helped our Afghan clients lodge their Australian humanitarian visa applications.

From July - September 2021, Kim managed the strategic operations, administration and coordination of the lead team, whilst Kobra led the legal assistance channel, supported by a dedicated team of volunteers.

Following September 2021, the clinic’s operations was continued by Valerie.

From July 2021 - December 2022, LAFA maintained regular contact with the Department of Home Affairs which allowed for over hundreds of applications to be submitted.

The Generation of Change (2018 - 2019)

Produced by two friends, Kim and Maddy, "The Generation of Change"  is a short documentary that aims to challenge the stereotyping of young people as "lazy, apathetic millennials" by highlighting the inspiring stories and experiences of young people who are creating change in the Australian community - including youth activists, entrepreneurs and representatives.

It was a two year project involving Kim and Maddy interviewing and collaborating with a whole bunch of remarkable young social entrepreneurs, activists, UN Youth reps, CEOs and founders of some awesome organisations like Oaktree, Foundation for Young Australians (FYA), VGen - World Vision, Youth Affairs Council Victoria and more!

Our short doco was selected for Adelaide International Youth Film Festival and Changing Face International Film Festival.
